Melt is a New York City based band who formed in 2017. With a sound that continuously pulls from new realms, at Melt’s core is a shared love of soul and psychedelia, existential pop songs and ethereal jam sections, and a deep love for each other. Melt initially made a name for themselves with their first single “Sour Candy” that reached #5 on Billboard’s US Viral 50 Chart when they were 18 years old. They have since released their first EP “West Side Highway” in 2021: a bold project inspired by an eclectic mix of artists from Diana Ross to Wilco, The Grateful Dead to Maggie Rogers. As Melt continues to grow and reach new heights, they want you to help them create love, build community, and work towards an ever-evolving vision of the future. Join the band on their North America tour this fall and get ready to melt.

Spending her childhood in Syston, Leicestershire, Mahalia, similar to her geographical beginnings, felt like an outsider, particularly in school. Quickly, she turned those feelings into confidence and self love, finding refuge in the love of musical performance and ideation. Coming from a strong support system in her mother and father, she started performing at open-mic nights, learning to face her audience and sing with intention.
Mahalia’s willingness to grow and shed her skin, led to her signing to Asylum/Atlantic Records at 13. “All of a sudden, I was back and forth to London at the weekend, in sessions and recording constantly,” she says. Also attending the prestigious Birmingham Ormiston Academy, she added acting classes into her artistic repertoire, as well as opting to develop as a youth before diving full force into music.
The ability to pause activity whilst still being signed led to Mahalia embracing the multi-faceted, layered dimensions of being a teenager is exactly what informed her debut long-player project Diary of Me, released in 2016, when the singer was only 17. “‘Marry Me’ and ‘I Remember’ were some of the first songs I ever wrote about love,” she explains. Across the nimble, but ambitious release, Mahalia’s concoction of experiences are beautifully put across neo-soul productions, her candid, Gen-Z references of Snapchat et al, helping to inform her societal, and romance-related ruminations.

The Aluminum Group was formed in the 80’s in Chicago by Frank and John Navin (gay brothers), who have have been collaborating professionally for 35-40 years. The Aluminum Group, their newest, self-titled release came to fruition during COVID. Time elapsed for the brothers, between their last release and now, as they followed other life experiences.
Frank pursued his passion for art and design. He collaborated with Francesco Risso and Lawrence Steele (Creative Directors for the fashion brand Marni in 2018).
John retired as a veteran special education teacher from the Chicago Public Schools. Restored a Ludwig Mies van der Rohe Townhouse in the fabled, National Historic Lafayette Park Community in downtown Detroit.
Their new record is a product, produced during the worldwide pandemic known as Covid-19 with all its variants. This posed new recording challenges. They worked through the wires. Simultaneous and in unison with their new album, the brothers have produced a body of visual artwork they call, “The New Gay Dada”. This series will accompany the record release as an art booklet. Prints will be available for purchase. They’re planning on exhibiting TNGD in various galleries in Chicago, Detroit, New York, Milan, and Paris.
